Electronic air suspension systems automatically adapt the damping and spring characteristics to the changing driving conditions of the motorcycle. As a result, the roll and pitch movements are substantially reduced. The air cushioning system is the first of its kind worldwide to use air for cushioning purposes. A piston moves in an aluminum cylinder that is filled with air, as opposed to oil. A part of this air is expelled by the piston during the damping process and, therefore, creates an additional progressive absorption effect. Another part flows through the valves, creating a damping effect. The sensors and electronics of both systems result in a perfectly tuned suspension response, engine control and brake system - important in critical driving situations. The advantages of this system are an almost fully automatic adaptation to the load, reduced weight and design. Pneumatic suspension is a type of vehicle suspension driven by an electric or motor driven pump or compressor. This compressor pumps air into a flexible bellows, usually made of textile reinforced rubber. The air pressure inflates the bellows, and raises the chassis from the shaft.

A suspension system or shock absorber is a mechanical device designed to soften or cushion the shock pulse, and dissipate the kinetic energy. The duty of dampers is to absorb or dissipate energy. In a vehicle, it reduces the effect of traveling over rough terrain, leading to better driving quality, and increases comfort due to the substantially reduced amplitude of the disturbances. The design of the spring in the suspension system is very important. In this project a damper is designed and a 3D model is created using Pro / Engineer. The model is also changed by changing the thickness of the spring. Structural analysis and modal analysis are performed on the shock absorber by variable material for spring, spring steel and beryllium copper. The analysis is performed considering loads, bicycle weight, single person and 2 people. The structural analysis is performed to validate the resistance and modal analysis is performed to determine the displacements for different frequencies for the number of modes.
