RFID VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
Vehicle Identification System is a microcontroller based project. Through this system we are automating the checking procedure of the vehicle at the checking center located at different places.
In this system all the vehicles will be provided with a universal identification code, through which it could be easily identified. An electronic machine, Radio Frequency transmitter is incorporated in the vehicle, and it will be stored with the corresponding universal code. Another machine Radio Frequency Receiver will be installed in the checking port, which is able to decode the universal code of the vehicle when it passes near the checking center. A display panel or computer will display all the details of the vehicle.
If the vehicle lack in the payments such as insurance, tax and smoke certificate validity, the expiry dates relating to the vehicle like insurance, tax, smoke certificate validity will be displayed and which enables the police to check vehicle details and the payments can be easily proceed through this system. This system which update the details after the payments.
This system is mainly designed for policemen and it is user friendly also. The users are given with a variety of choices and he can choose any of the options according to his needs. The administrators and staffs can use the facilities provided in this system to handle the various operations related to updating the database with ease.
This system which enables the policemen to check vehicle details without enquiring or wasting time of the passengers and the appropriate payments can be made easily.
The C#.NET in the Front-End is powered by Back-End Oracle8i, which captures the requests from the Front-End and fires appropriate responses. Oracle the powerful Relational Database Management System which manages the vehicle details and other related details.
The Project Work has been carried out at KELTRON, Trivandrum.
INTRODUCTION
1.1 INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Project “Vehicle Identification System” which automates the checking procedure of the vehicle at the checking center located at different places.
In this system all the vehicles will be provided with a universal identification code through which the vehicle could be easily identified. A Radio Frequency Transmitter will be incorporated in the vehicle, and it will be stored with the corresponding universal code. Another machine will be installed in the checking port (Police) which is able to decode the universal code of the vehicle when it passes near the check center. A display panel or computer at the check center will display the details of the vehicle.
This system involves two parties:
• Administrator
• Staff
The main users of the system are policemen. This system allows them to check the details of the vehicle without wasting the time of the passengers. The Administrator has the complete privilege over the software. This software consists of these functionalities:
 User Registration
 Entering Vehicle Details
 Reading Data From Port
 Identifying the Vehicle and display the details
 Payments
User Registration:
This module which deals with the registration of users such as Administrator and Staff. The users can register into the system by entering their details.
Entering Vehicle Details:
In this module the details of individual vehicles are entered to the database. From this database the vehicle details are retrieved and used.
Reading Data from Port:
This module covers the reading of data from Serial Port which is generated by Radio Frequency Receiver.
Identifying the Vehicle and display the details:
This module deals with identifying particular vehicle passing through the checking point and displaying the details of the vehicle.
Payments:
If the vehicle passing through the checking point exceeds the expiry dates of insurance, tax and smoke certificate validity this system has the options for paying the insurance and tax.
