Description

The Applied Dynamics rtX is a high performance platform for real-time and HIL simulation. The rtX uses standard PC technology and the ADvantage software suite to provide a highly scalable, high-performance, real-time platform. ADvantage provides tools for simulation execution, data capture, analysis, visualization, and test automation. The ADvantage development environment includes the QNX operating system, code templates, and a framework for easily integrating PCI, Compact PCI, PXI, PMC, and Industry Pack boards.

Standard configurations include single-processor Intel Pentium, single-processor AMD Opteron, and dual-processor AMD Opteron real-time computers. I/O interfaces include a wide range of analog, digital, waveform generators, flexible I/O (Motorola TPU , FPGAs), and serial communication (CAN, LIN, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX, UDP Ethernet, TCP/IP Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422).

Models created in Simulink can be easily interfaced to external hardware and tested using the rtX when used with Simulink Coder. ADI's interactive tools provide the runtime environment for executing Simulink models on the rtX. Interactive tools include ADvantageDE for the development of real-time projects; ADvantageVI for run-time control, visualization, interaction, scripting, and automation; SIMplotter, for runtime stripchart and plotting capability; and Altia, for data visualization and control.
