The health industry collects huge amounts of health data that, unfortunately, is not "mined" to uncover hidden information for effective decision making. The discovery of hidden patterns and relationships often goes untapped. Advanced data mining techniques can help remedy this situation. This research has developed a prototype Smart Cardiac Disease Prediction System (IHDPS) using data mining techniques, namely Decision Trees, Naïve Bayes and Neural Network. The results show that each technique has its unique strength in achieving the goals of defined mining goals. The IHDPS can answer complex "what if" questions that traditional decision support systems can not. Using medical profiles such as age, sex, blood pressure and blood sugar can predict the likelihood of patients getting heart disease. It allows meaningful knowledge, eg. patterns, relationships among medical factors related to heart disease, to be established.
