Bioreactors are widely used in many biotechnology processes, we have different types of bioreactors, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, of which I will speak. A bioreactor is a container, which is used to carry out one or more biochemical reactions to convert raw materials into products through the action of biocatalyst, enzymatic microorganisms, animal or plant cells. The raw material could be an organic compound such as sugar or an inorganic chemical such as CO2.
Advantages
1. continuous operation
2. Good temperature control
3. Easily adapts to two-phase racing
4. Good control
5. Simplicity of construction
6. Low operating cost (labor)
7. Easy to clean
Disadvantages
1. The need for shaft seals and bearings.
2. Limitation of size by motor size, shaft length and weight.
