Loyola School, Thiruvananthapuram, is a private Jesuit school for children located on a large and leafy campus in the suburb of Sreekariyam in the city of Thiruvananthapuram (formerly Trivandrum), in the Indian state of Kerala. The school serves high school preschoolers. Loyola students are called Loyolites.

Organization

Founded in 1961, Loyola is owned by the Province of Kerala of the Company of Jesus. The nominal head of the school has always been a Jesuit priest with the title of "Rector". Often, the Rector is also the Director of Loyola College of Social Sciences, a postgraduate university that shares a common campus with the school. The chief executive of the school has always been a Jesuit priest with the title of "Director." The Director administers the daily activities of the school and is assisted by two Deputy Principals. The Rector and the Director of Loyola inform the Provincial Superior of the Province of Kerala of the Society of Jesus.

Predicted by the Jesuits and established in 1961, Loyola School Trivandrum is one of the best of its kind in India. Ensconced on an extensive campus on the outskirts of the capital city and provided with the best infrastructure and assisted by a trusted faculty, it offers the ideal atmosphere for the holistic development of about 1750 UKG students to two more classes at ICSE, ISC , CBSE and HSE. The school has been reaping the deserved harvest of excellence in the form of a large number of KVPY and NTS scholars; Enough national toppers on the board exams, contest competitions and the Olympics of each class; An even greater number of Loyolites joining prestigious professional colleges each year; Many students who later excel in the Civil Service and other competitive exams; The usual success story of 100% passes with a 75% Distinction in all the examinations of the Board of Directors; An annual average of five players selected for state level teams; And half a dozen contest magicians bring home a dozen trophies every year to Loyola.

Many factors contribute to the identity and achievements of Loyola School. Although it is a Catholic minority school protected by Article 30 of the Constitution, it has always been truly Catholic in its commitment and therefore admission and appointment have been open to all communities without any donation. The key word here is Magis, which involves incessant effort for the even better.

In the Loyola family of parents, students, educators and alumni, an atmosphere of mutual appreciation and cooperation prevails. Most parents realize the importance of their role as co-educators and cooperate with the school in an effort to bring out the best in each student. The school assists its monitoring efforts by providing periodic progress cards, circulars and deficiency reports, as well as promoting collective interaction at PTA meetings and confidential exchange at Open Houses. Also, regular seminars by experts in the field are arranged to promote responsible parenting and value based living.

There are a number of clubs and forums that work at this school to foster personal and interpersonal skills as well as social awareness. The regular school assembly has been serving as a platform to express different opinions and to perfect public speaking skills. About ten extension lectures on different topics are organized each year and some of the personalities who have already interacted with students include such great visionaries as Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and a host of diplomats, scientists and other internationally renowned professionals.

In order to improve and test the leadership qualities and organizational skills of seniors, the school has been supporting, since 1996, its initiative in organizing prestigious events between schools such as LaFest. The Loyola basketball tournament held every year since 1974 is intended to promote sportsmanship, and Loyolite hoopsters have lifted the trophy sixteen times so far.

The LOBA (Loyola Old Boys Association) is the test as well as the symbol of the unique Loyola-ness and plays an important role in bringing together the globally extensive diaspora of Loyolites of all ages and professions and in organizing useful programs For your The youngest on campus now.
