The main purpose of the Adaptive Headlight System (AHS) for automobiles is to present a cost-effective technique for illuminating blind spots while driving at night and during times when visibility is reduced significantly to make objects visible in those darkened places To prevent accidents. The system operates according to the controlled input of the Atmel AT89S52 microcontroller unit that powers the stepper motors connected to the headlights. The system is also designed to receive the input from the indicator switch, in which a full turn is obtained by the headlight mirror when the indicator input is given. In addition, adaptive headlights are automatically activated when the amount of light measured by a photodiode falls below a threshold, thus eliminating the driver's need to turn on the headlights.
