Student attendance plays a very important role in justifying their overall academic performance. Unfortunately, there is no automated record keeping system available for students in schools and colleges. Today with advanced technology, there are a lot of technologies that are being used in this century. Several of the software applications are created in order to make the data that is saved online and access the data stored through manually. The stored computer data is safer because it will be protected by encryption key. Thus, here is an attempt to develop such a system and solve the existing problem. The main objective of the proposed work is to design a database management system for students using a barcode scanner. In this work we convert the manual management of the student database into a computerized system for data reliability and ease of access. This system provides any information regarding students such as your USN, Department, attendance status, internal assessment rating, interim results for any semester, and other personal information. Provides all of a student's information from the first day to the end of their course, so that it can be used later for the entire purpose of the information, follow-up care, curriculum details, and therefore may be Used for future reference. This system will have the required databases of the student directory, this application has been developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 using C programming language and using MS Access to create the database. The autonomous system is accessed through the barcode scanner is interconnected with the Arduino microcontroller. The student must use his or her identity card and slip it on the barcode scanner to verify its details. The student database system is located on a server that can be accessed at any time and all information is being updated through the administration panel. In addition, by using this system we can reduce human time and effort. The system is easy to use with GUI support and all system access instructions will be displayed on the LCD. The proposed prototype is to configure the full promised student information, it is not only for students, and also can access by their parents, just sending an SMS to know about their room completely with attendance report card and academic performance . It saves and consumes less time to access.
