Kerala State Financial Enterprises Limited (KSFE) is a non-bank public sector financial company based in the city of Thrissur, Kerala, India. It began to operate the 6 of November of 1969, with the city of Thrissur like seat. It started with a capital of Rs 2,00,000, 45 employees and 10 branches. It now has 568 branches and eleven regional offices in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Attingal, Alappuzha, Kattappana and Malappuram. KSFE is a diverse non-bank financial company (MNBFC) and is owned by the Kerala government. KSFE is the only government-owned chitty company in India.

Chitty

Chitty is the main product of KSFE.

It is a unique financial product that combines the advantages of investment and advancement. It is a safe haven without risk to the public, since KSFE only drives chitties totally governed by the dispositions of the Central Law Fund Act of 1982. The monthly fee for chitties oscillates between Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 and the usual length of chitties is 30 months, 40 months, 50 months, 60 months and 100 months.

Other schemes offered are detailed below:

1. Loans and advances:

Although Chitty is essentially a loan / down payment scheme, for subscribers whose chimpanzees are not appreciated and at the same time need money, relief has been provided by two loan schemes created within the chitty scheme, namely. Chitty Pass Book Loan and New Chitty Loan.

KSFE offers other loan / advance schemes, comparable to those offered by banks and other financial institutions, and these include:

Gold Loan Program, Reliable Customer Loan, Consumer / Vehicle Loan, Special Vehicle Loan, New Housing Financing Plan, Flexy Trade Loan, Tax Planning Loan Plan, Fixed Deposit Loan, Sugama (Akshaya) Scheme Overdraft, Vidyadhanam Education Loan Scheme and KSFE Haritham Loan Scheme.

2. Schemes of deposit:

Fixed Deposit, Short Term Deposit, Sugama Deposit (which is similar to Bank Deposit Deposit), Chitty-in-Trust Security Deposit and Sugama Security Account.

3. Activities based on KSFE rates:

1. Western Union Money Transfer - as a sub agent of Paul Merchants Ltd.

4. Values:

From subscribers and chitty customers who endorse KSFE loans / advances, KSFE accepts several types of securities including:

Fixed Deposits with KSFE or Bank Approved, Bank Guarantee, NRI Deposits, LIC Policies, National Savings Certificate (NSC), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), Chitty Pass Book of Unhealthy Chitti, Gold Security, Late Checks, Warranty personnel and security of the property.

Future plans KSFE includes:

1. Centralized Chitty registry.

2. Online Chitty Auction.

3. Chitty payments on the door step of subscribers.

4. Opening of branches outside Kerala.

5. Diffusion of weekly chitties to all KSFE branches.

6. Electronic shipping facilities for all customers.

7. Incursion in the field of M-commerce.

8. Introducing ATM facilities and at any time in any transaction facilities.

9. Implementation of basic solutions software in the company.

10. Go to the CRISIL qualification to get FAAA.

11. Work as a nodal agency for the distribution of State / Central Government pensions and other UPM.

12. Undertake gold operations.
