The Highway Maintenance and Improvement Project for Peru will help finance: maintenance teams, spare parts and consultant services so that the Department of Highways can strengthen and improve its maintenance operation; A paving program of 200 km, the replacement of some obsolete bridges on the Pan American Highway; The purchase and installation of traffic meters and scales for the regulation of road traffic, and part of the cost of a road, and the study of the transport commission.
The maintenance function includes several;
1. Surface Maintenance
2. Drainage and road maintenance
3. Shoulder and approaches to maintenance
4. Snow and ice control
5. Maintenance of bridges
6. Transit service
