University Grants Commission has presented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) program in which students have the option to choose between prescribed courses, which are called basic courses, electives or minor and soft skills, and can learn on their own. rhythm and the whole evaluation is classified according to a credit system. The basic idea is to study the needs of the students in order to keep up with the development of higher education in India and abroad. CBCS aims to redefine the curriculum by keeping pace with liberalization and globalization in education. CBCS allows students an easy mode of mobility to various educational institutions spread around the world along with the ease of transfer of credits earned by students.
Characteristics of CBCS
• This is a uniform CBCS for all central and state universities and other recognized universities.
• There are three main courses: Core, Elective and Foundation.
• There are also courses without credit available that will be evaluated as "Satisfactory" or "Unsatisfactory". This is not included in the calculation of SGPA / CGPA.
• All three main courses will be evaluated and accessed to provide an effective and balanced result.
