Abstract
A system is developed to remotely monitor process through spoken commands using
mobile. By augmenting an existing or new product with an embedded information-server, the product can be controlled remotely in a very cost effective way.
information server:An information interface to tap the source and to update it.
A
terminal can, be any device that is capable of sending and/or receiving information and displaying it to its user.Mobile phones are introduced here as terminals.
Areas of application
1. Alarms and surveillance:
the owner can directly monitor and control the alarm via a mobile phone from anywhere either through a WAP phone providing a feature rich interface or via SMS.
2.Intelligent home
local radio page link (or even infra red) is sufficient means for communications between the users terminal and the device. For example, when approaching the
main door, the user should get a greeting message and the option to unlock the door popping up in his/her mobile phone. Here, both parties benefit from the use of standardised information servers and terminals.the users chooses one or more terminals, according to his/her own preferences, and get access to a graphical user-interface.
3.automotive industry
We can use a standardised information-server for the service and maintenance
interface. these terminals can be used by the service personnel.Upgrading is also simplified, for instance, upgrading from a serial port interface to a Bluetooth radio page link can be done without affecting. anything else than the information server module.
Technologies involved
First, there is an information bearer. a communications medium, like a GSM
mobile phones network or a LAN .
-Second, the information needs to be encoded in a way that the users terminal can understand and present to the user.
