Abstract

An electromagnetic generator without moving
parts includes a permanent magnet and a magnetic core including first
and second magnetic paths. A first input coil and a first output coil
extend around portions of the first magnetic path, while a second input
coil and a second output coil extend around portions of the second

A sensorless direct torque control algorithm-based controller is proposed for the squirrel-cage induction generator. A technique for on-line detection of incipient faults in the windings of turbine - generator rotors has been developed based on the twin signal sensing method. To detect the developing shorts in any winding, two identical pulses are applied to both ends f the winding and are reflected back .Any abnormality in the winding results in the applied signals being reflected through nonsymmetrical circuits.
