Traditional telephones use cables that are connected to telephone exchange .the calls are first transmitted to the nearest phone exchange which is then send to the telephone exchange to the area belonging to the person to whom we are calling. The whole process is charged by the service provider. Whereas VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) enables voice calls to be carried over the Internet or other networks designed for data.
