A large percentage of them employ two stroke engines because of their simplicity, high power to weight ratio and low cost of maintenance. Although two stroke engines are less efficient and more polluting they may continue to popular due to low cost and maintenance.

With the fuel being injected directly into the combustion chamber were actually the foundation for first gasoline injection system. ABSTRACT


Fresh charge loss during the scavenging process of a two stroke S.I engine is known to be the principal reason for its high specific fuel consumption and high hydrocarbon emission. In order to minimize the fresh charge loss to the exhaust a new scavenging system had been developed. To achieve better performance from this scavenging system, control of air flow through reed valve is necessary, since it will affect the mixture quality of the trapped charge. Introduction

A two stroke engine is one which completes its cycle of operation in one revolution of the crankshaft or in two strokes of the piston. In this engine the function of the intake and exhaust processes of the four stroke engine are taken care by the incoming fresh charge which is compressed either in the crank case or by means of a separate blower while the engine piston is near the bottom dead centre. The engine piston needs only to compress the fresh charge and expand the product of combustion.

1.ABSTRACT
This proposal relates to conceptual design of “Valved Two Stroke Engine with Extended Expansion” . This is an hybrid of two stroke and four stroke engine.
We know that in a two stroke engine - the four strokes viz. suction, compression, power and exhaust will be completed in each rotation of crank shaft and power is produced for each rotation. Whereas in a four stroke engine the above four strokes are completed in every two rotation and power is produced once in a two rotation. Hence for same siz ....etc
