The third generation(3G) wireless network is envisaged as the next generation wireless solution for meeting the demand of its users. It promises to provide wireless access to multimedia applications at rates upto 2Mbps. But the problems of intermittent disconnection, high error rate in wireless networks can cause degradation of protocols and compromise the QoS (Quality-of-Service) guaranteed to the users.
