Abstract
A Labview and internet based water level control
system is developed, which enables the students, who
study automatic control, the deeper understanding of
the control theory and the real experiences on control
system design and implementation. The system will
enable the students to do the experiment in their free
time through internet with a remote computer. The
system is of low cost and can also save the course hours
for experimentation.

Water-Level Controller
In most houses, water is first stored in an underground tank (UGT) and from there it is pumped up to the overhead tank (OHT) located on the roof. People generally switch on the pump when their taps go dry and switch off the pump when the overhead tank starts overflowing. This results in the unnecessary wastage and sometimes non-availability of water in the case of emergency. SIMPLE AUTOMATIC WATER-LEVEL CONTROLLER


Water-level controllers are
common nowadays. The
one described here is
built around timer NE555 and
inverter buffer CMOS IC CD4049.
It uses readily-available, low-cost
components, and is easy to build
and install on the over-head
tank (OHT) to prevent wastage of
water.

The circuit works off a 12V battery
or 230V AC mains using a 12V
adaptor. The three sensors built
from non-corrosive metal are fitted

WORKING PRINCIPLE:



Attach length copper wire to one stick and make two points (top and bottom) on other stick with copper wire; and mark them point A, B, C as shown in the diagram. Connect points A, B and C to the main circuit. The IC 555is used in the circuit as an astable multivibrator. The IC is an 8pin duel-in-line IC. When there is water in between the points A and C, pin no 3 voltage of the IC becomes high and transistor BC 148 op ....etc
