There are two main limitations of using conventional x-rays to examine internal structures of the body. Firstly superimpositions of the 3-dimensional information onto a single plane make diagnosis confusing and often difficult. Secondly the photographic film usually used for making radiographs has a limited dynamic range and therefore only object that have large variation in the x-ray absorption relative to their surroundings will cause sufficient contrast differences on the film to be distinguished by the eye. optical scanning technique of dactylogram (fingerprint) developed by using plural LED's with different wavelength as emitting elements and a color CCD or CMOS area image sensor as receiving element. if the above LED's have wave lengths corresponding to those peak sensing wavelengths of the R/G/B outputs of that color area image sensor, Owing to the R/G/B filters built in that color area image sensor ,and if the above mentioned LED's are installed to emit light on the surface of finger from different directions, then it will be effective to get ....etc

The best optical microscopes can see structures in the 200 – 400 nm range, at their limits of resolution.
The STM can “see” structures on the order of 0.1 nm —another SPM, the AFM—can distinguish things on the order of 100 nm .

The study of micro cracks in concrete is very important to understand its behavior under loading and to improve this material. The direct observation in a scanning microscope is not a suitable method because the concrete is subject to drying shrinkage. Another indirect and non destructive method of observation by SEM is proposed. With this method using a single replica the micro cracks of concrete can be observed better than 0.5 µm. ....etc
