Both the rolling thin film oven test (RTFOT) and the short-term oven aging (STOA) methods are used in the laboratory to represent
the aging of an asphalt binder during plant mixing, transportation and paving. The RTFOT is conducted at 163 C for 85 min, and the

Over the last decade, particle tracking microrheology has matured as a new tool for complex fluids research. The main advantages of microrheology over traditional macroscopic rheometry are: the required sample size is extremely small (~ 1 mL); local viscoelastic properties in a sample can be probed with high spatial resolution (~1-10 mm); and the sample is not disturbed by moving rheometer parts.
