An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is an information-processing paradigm that is inspired by the way biological nervous systems, such as the brain, process information. The key element of this paradigm is the novel structure of the information processing system. It is composed of a large number of highly interconnected processing elements (neurons) working in unison to solve specific problems. ANNs, like people, learn by example. An ANN is configured for a specific application, such as pattern recognition or data classification, thr ....etc

An Artificial Passenger (AP)

An artificial passenger (AP) is a device that would be used in a motor vehicle to make sure that the driver stays awake. IBM has developed a prototype that holds a conversation with a driver, telling jokes and asking questions intended to determine whether the driver can respond alertly enough. Assuming the IBM approach, an artificial passenger would use a microphone for the driver and a speech generator and the vehicle s audio speakers to converse with the driver.

FACE RECOGNITION USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS

Artificial Neural Networks commonly referred to as ËœNeural Networksâ„¢ is a new branch of AI, that enabled a crude simulation of the structure of human brain electronically or in software. The inherent properties of human brain enable it to analyze complex patterns consisting of a number of elements, those individually reveal little of the total pattern, yet collectively represent easily recognizable objects.

Artificial Intelligence for Speech Recognition

Artificial Intelligence (AI) involves two basic ideas. First, it involves studying the thought processes of human beings. Second, it deals with representing those processes via machines (computers, robots, etc).

AI is the behavior of a machine, which, if performed by a human being, would be called intelligent. It makes machines smarter and more useful, is less expensive than natural intelligence. Natural Language Processing (NLP) refers to Artificia ....etc

Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is a system loosely modeled on human brain. It tries to obtain a performance similar to that of human?s performance while solving problems. As a computational system it is made up of a large number of simple and highly interconnected processing elements which process information by its dynamic state response to external inputs. Computational elements in ANN are non-linear and so the results come out through non-linearity can be more accurate than other methods. These non-linear computational elements will be work ....etc

Artificial Eye

The retina is a thin layer of neural tissue that lines the back wall inside the eye. Some of these cells act to receive light, while others interpret the information and send messages to the brain through the optic nerve. This is part of the process that enables us to see. In damaged or dysfunctional retina, the photoreceptors stop working, causing blindness. By some estimates, there are more than 10 million people worldwide affected by retinal diseases that lead to loss of vision.

Power System Restoration (PSR) has been a subject of study for many years. In recent years many techniques were proposed to solve the limitations of predetermined restoration guidelines and procedures used by a majority of system operators to restore a system following the occurrence of a wide area disturbance.

This paper discusses limitations encountered in some currently used PSR techniques and a proposed improvement based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). This proposed scheme has been tested on a 162-bus transmission system and compa ....etc
