Seminar report based on monolithic and geodesic domes
The domes have been a prominent part of the building dating back to ancient times because of its uniqueness in providing maximum space with minimum surface area. Its popularity lost ground during the medieval period due to tedious construction methods and qualified work requirements for large domes. Through this document a brief tour of the history of the domes is made through a general analysis of the domes and a comparison is made of the roofs of the domes with flat roofs. The paper also examines possible future aspects of the domes by evaluating popular types - two prominent are the monolithic and geodesic domes. The document highlights the various advantages and key aspects of these types of domes as the modern world seeks efficient, eco-friendly and durable housing options. We evaluated the dwelling with geodesic and monolithic domes with this intention. In our paper we conclude that both the geodesic and monolithic domes are sustainable structures for housing and points out that more research and research on the same is necessary.
