Storage tanks and water tanks are used to store water, liquid petroleum, petroleum products and similar liquids. The analysis of the strength of the tanks or tanks is approximately the same regardless of the chemical nature of the product. All tanks are designed as crack-free structures to eliminate any leakage. This project gives the detailed analysis of the design of the liquid retention structure using the work effort method.

The analytical design has been done with the Microsoft Excel sheet

A water tank is a container for storing liquid. The need for a water tank is as old as civilization, to provide water storage for use in many applications, drinking water, irrigation, agriculture, fire extinguishing, agricultural agriculture, both for plants and livestock, Many other uses. The parameters of the water tank include the general design of the tank, and the choice of building materials, coatings. The design of the reinforced concrete water tank is based on IS 3370: 2009 (Parts I - IV). The design depends on the location of the tanks, ie above, in the underground or underground water tanks. The tanks can be RCC or even steel. The above tanks are usually raised from ground level using the number of columns and beams. On the other hand underground tanks rest below ground level.

Types of water tanks

In this section, the types of water tanks are discussed in detail. There are different types of water tanks depending on the shape, position with respect to the ground level, etc. From the point of view of position, water tanks are classified into three categories. Those are,
A) Underground tanks
B) Tanks resting on the ground
C) Water tanks above

In most cases, the underground and ground tank are circular or rectangular in shape, but the shape of the overloaded tanks is influenced by the aesthetic view of the environment and by the design.
