In this critical operating unit in the methanol production train the KATALCOJM QUADRALOBE™ range of catalysts ensures optimal operation at all times. Johnson Matthey manufactures this range of carefully designed shaped support offering high surface area and high voidage with excellent heat transfer. The resulting high activity, heat transfer and low pressure drop gives a combination of lower methane slip, high throughput and longer tube lives for methanol plant reformers. The catalysts are unique in their ability to reform efficiently the full range of feedstocks from natural gas up to heavy hydrocarbons such as naphthas.
