Required abstract of factories Act 1948 and Maharashtra Factories Rules
The Factories Act of 1948 was a Parliamentary Act passed in the United Kingdom by the Labor government of Clement Attlee. It was approved with the intention of safeguarding the health of workers. The age limits for medical examination of the persons entering the factory were extended, while it also includes male workers in regulations to provide seats and issue new building regulations. Under the legislation, young people under eighteen years of age undergo medical examination not only upon entry to the workplace, but also annually. Certificates of aptitude were also required for young people employed in the loading, unloading and coaling of ships and other types of work on ships in port or wet dock, in engineering construction and construction operations, as well as in factory employees .
