The increased deployment of the ubiquitous wireless networks have exponentially increased the complexity to detect the wireless network attacks and prevent them . Here, the vulnerabilities in the wireless networks are analysed and a classification system of the various network attacks have been developed. And finally developed here is a wireless self protection system that can protect the network from a wide variety of wireless network attacks.
Various complex dynamic and knowledgeable attacks are still pervalent in the network inspite of the more security improvements taking place. The anomaly based wireless intrusion detection and response system is presented in this article which can detect and respond to a wide range of network attacks. The approach followed here is to monitor the wireless network in the different windows based on the multichannel online monitoring. The data page link layer features and the mobility of the users have a significant impact on the performance of the system. The salient features of the wireless self protection system are:
-monitors wireless networks
-generates wireless network flows
-complex and unknown wireless attacks are detected and appropriate actions are taken.
