Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is the company responsible for the transmission and distribution of electricity within the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its president is Shri Alok Kumar. Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) purchases power from power generators owned by the state government (Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam and Uttar Pradesh Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited), the power generators of the central government (NTPC Limited and THDC Ltd) and Independent Power Producers - IPP (mainly private energy companies) through the purchase of energy agreement for the lowest cost per unit of electricity.
