Application of Software Testing in E-Learning.

Presented BY
SAVITA BADHE

Department Of Information Technology
Imperial College of Engg & Research

Use of software verification, validation and testing technique in the design and implementation of E-Learning package.
Test learn ability of E-learning application.
Provide testing methods that helps to design online training for inexperienced e-learners.

Major Testing Techniques In E-learning
Verification And Validation

1. Functional Testing
Detect discrepancies between a programâ„¢s functional specifications & its actual behaviors.
2. Usability Testing
Verifies user friendliness or user understandability of product.
3. Mutation Testing
Evaluate the effectiveness of testing applied to the system.
4. E-Learning Acceptance Testing
Important when designing online training for
inexperienced e-learners.
5. Compatibility Testing
The E-Learning package should be compatible with
the formal learning schemes.
6. Foreign-Language Testing
It involve the testing of the following factors:-
Translation issue, Text expansion, Localization issues.
Conclusion

The major question regarding testing in future is the effectiveness, economics of testing in Learning and approaches.

As it will be very critical for the survival of the institute or organization providing E-Learning facility, the ultimate goal should be the total test automation.
Stages of Instruction Design

Analysis of needs, goals and priorities.
Analysis of resources and constraints.
Selection of delivery system.
Preparation of a curriculum with reference to goals for each subject.
Designing of objectives of each course.
Designing of the organization of course.
Assessment of learnerâ„¢s performance.
Development of the learning material.

SOFTWARE TESTING

PANKAJ KAUSHIK,

Introduction To Software Testing

Software testing is both a discipline and a process. Though software testing is part of the software development process, it should not be considered part of software development. It is a separate discipline from software development. Software development is the process of coding functionality to meet defined end-user needs. Software testing is an iterative process of both validating functionality, and, even more important, attempting to break the software. The iterative process of software testing consists of:
 Designing tests
 Executing tests
 Identifying problems
 Getting problems fixed
The objective of software testing is to find problems and fix them to improve quality. Software testing typically represents 40% of a software development budget.
While Software testing tends to be considered a part of development, it is really its own discipline and should be tracked as its own project. Software testing, while working very closely with development, should be independent enough to be able to hold-up or slow product delivery if quality objectives are not met.
