A simple LED tracker hobby circuit can be made using the 555 stopwatch and IC counter CD4017. You can use this circuit for decorative purposes. By modifying the circuit properly, you can even use it to control lights that operate on the AC mains.
Required components
• CD4017 Counter IC - 1
• 555 Timer IC - 1
• LED - 11
• Resistance of 680Ω - 11
• Resistance 10KΩ - 1
• Variable resistance of 10KΩ - 1
• 10μF Condenser - 1
• 0.01μF Condenser - 1
• 9V battery / power supply - 1
