Hi am juzer practising structural engineer i would like to get details on is 456 2016 latest revision
IS 456-2000 Plain and Reinforced Concrete Code of Practice is an Indian code of practice for the general structural use of reinforced and reinforced concrete. The latest revision of this standard was made in the year 2000, reaffirmed 2005. This code uses the state boundary design approach as well as the stress design work approach. It is written for use in India. Provides extensive information on the various aspects of concrete.

It contains five sections and eight annexations:
• Section 1: General
• Section 2: Materials, Manufacturing, Inspection and Testing
• Section 3: General Design Considerations
• Section 4: Special design requirements for members and structural systems
• Section 5: Structural Design (Limit State Method)

The structural practice manual SP: 16-1980 Design aid for reinforced concrete at IS: 456-1978 has charts and graphs that help structural engineers quickly design simple sections. Although the design aid is based on the 1978 code, it continues to be used without revision, as there have been no major changes to section 5, which supports design aid.

IS 456: 2000 should be read along with other standard Indian codes that complement it:
• IS: 13920-1993 (Reaffirmed 1998) Ductile detail of reinforced concrete structures subjected to seismic forces - Code of Practice
• SP: 34-1987 Concrete and Detail Reinforcement Manual (This manual should be revised based on the changes in the detailed clauses of IS: 456-2000).
