Electricity in the home can be produced with small-scale wind turbines. Wind turbines collect energy from the wind and use it to generate electricity. The percentage of all wind energy in Europe blows over the UK. A typical system at an exposed site could easily generate more power than lights and electrical appliances.
Wind turbines use large blades to catch the wind. When the wind blows, it hits the blades, the blades are forced to move around, driving a turbine that generates electricity. The stronger the wind, the more electricity it produces.
There are two types of wind turbines of national size:
1. Mounted pole: The wind turbine and bleed are mounted on independent pole.capacity from 5kW to 6kW.
2. Mounted in the building: These are smaller than most systems assembled and can be installed on the roof of a house where there is a suitable wind resource. Capacity from 1kW to 2kW.
